Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, including thorough reviews of medical histories, conducting specific functional assessments, and formulating individualized treatment plans based on evaluation outcomes.
  • Communicate evaluation findings and treatment recommendations clearly to patients and their families. Collaborate with them to set achievable rehabilitation goals.
  • Implement and adjust treatment protocols proactively, monitoring patient progress and modifying therapy plans as needed to adapt to changes in patient conditions.
  • Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and maintain a cohesive care plan.
  • Document patient evaluations and treatment outcomes meticulously, ensuring all required patient care activities are recorded in a timely and accurate manner to reflect the continuum of care.
  • Manage your schedule effectively to meet productivity expectations while maintaining an organized approach to patient care and follow-ups.
  • Engage in marketing activities aimed at educating the community about our services and increasing access to outpatient rehabilitative care.
  • Take initiative for your own professional development by participating in continuing education opportunities and mentoring less experienced staff or students.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and comply with governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Stephens Memorial, you will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Our patient population ranges from athletes seeking rehabilitation to elderly individuals recovering from joint replacements. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing their quality of life and achieving functional independence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required); Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy in New Jersey.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a supportive patient-provider relationship.
Preferred Experience
  • While prior work experience in a similar healthcare setting is not required, a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment is essential.
