Position Overview
Mend Force Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at our rehabilitation center in Little Ferry, New Jersey. Work Environment
You will be working onsite in our vibrant rehabilitation center, which accommodates a diverse patient population. Our facility is designed to enhance the patient experience, with plenty of space for therapy sessions, therapeutic equipment, and techniques including advanced manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular re-education. The center features an open layout that promotes collaboration among team members and easy communication with patients. In addition, our hours are user-friendly, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, supporting work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess patients diagnosed with various musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain syndromes.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing advanced therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular training.
  • Continuously monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize recovery outcomes.
  • Engage patients in their recovery process by empowering them with knowledge on preventive strategies, home exercise routines, and wellness practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients' families as well as facility staff regarding management strategies and wellness techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapy assistants and referring physicians, to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records while adhering to confidentiality standards and best practices in documentation.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will primarily focus on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those managing chronic musculoskeletal pain, and active individuals seeking to improve their overall functional mobility. Our diverse clientele includes both young athletes and mature adults, each requiring personalized approaches to rehabilitation. As you connect with your patients, you will build trusting relationships that foster engagement and motivation in their recovery journey.
Qualifications
  • Current and active Physical Therapist license in New Jersey is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or higher (Doctorate or Master's Degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical knowledge and evidence of competent manual therapy skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an empathetic approach to patient care.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, with additional certifications in areas such as geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation considered a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential home health visits.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, although qualified new graduates with relevant clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems for patient documentation and tracking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
