Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of patients referred by physicians, assessing functional mobility and physical limitations.
  • Developing tailored treatment plans that incorporate individual patient goals and reflect best practice guidelines.
  • Executing a variety of interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities designed to enhance recovery and functional independence.
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment protocols based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
  • Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care, maximizing outcomes through integrated approaches.
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families to ensure understanding of treatment plans and facilitate active participation in their recovery.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress in accordance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our facility serves a diverse range of patients, with a primary focus on orthopedic rehabilitation including post-surgical recovery, musculoskeletal disorders, and sports medicine. In this role, you will be instrumental in addressing the unique needs of each patient, ranging from children to seniors, ensuring inclusive care that aligns with their specific rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:
  • Possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • Hold a valid State License in Physical Therapy for Virginia.
  • Demonstrate at least two years of clinical experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiar with rehabilitation software.
Preferred Experience
While the above qualifications are essential, candidates that have additional specialties, such as pediatric or geriatrics, or certification in specialty areas (such as orthopedics or sports medicine), will be viewed favorably. Experience with community outreach or participation in educational workshops would also be advantageous.
