Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite, with therapists traveling to patients' homes across East Rutherford and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with various musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation needs to establish effective treatment plans.
  • Implement and modify individualized therapy programs that include advanced manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular re-education.
  • Monitor patient progress through detailed documentation and adjust treatment strategies in response to changes, ensuring an adaptive approach to therapy.
  • Educate and empower patients with practical tools for injury prevention, effective home exercise routines, and techniques for long-term wellness.
  • Advise and educate family members and caregivers about care strategies and support their engagement in the rehabilitation process.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapy assistants, medical providers, and other health professionals to deliver cohesive and informed patient care.
  • Regularly report on patient outcomes and coordinate care by communicating changes in patients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare team members.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, managing chronic pain conditions, and treating acute sports injuries. As a Home Care Physical Therapist, you will engage with a diverse client base, including active athletes, elderly patients rehabilitating from hip or knee replacements, and individuals experiencing work-related injuries. Your compassionate approach and expertise will significantly enhance their recovery journeys, ensuring they achieve their rehabilitation goals in a familiar and comfortable environment.
Qualifications
  • A valid New Jersey Physical Therapist license is required.
  • A Doctorate (DPT) or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation preferred.
  • Strong clinical foundation and knowledge in physical therapy practices, paired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques based on patient progress and needs, demonstrating a commitment to individualized patient care.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred; additional certifications in specialized areas such as geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation are a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for visiting patients in their homes.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is highly desirable, but we welcome applications from new graduates with strong clinical placements and a passion for orthopedic care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a home care setting while maintaining a collaborative spirit with the interdisciplinary team.
Compensation and Benefits
Mend Force Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
