Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of new patients referred by physicians, assessing mobility, strength, and functional capabilities to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions effectively, assisting patients in achieving measurable progress toward their rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide education and training to patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercises, and methods to manage daily activities post-injury.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to design and modify interventions that maximize patient outcomes.
  • Utilize appropriate therapy modalities and techniques tailored to the needs of the patient, ensuring adherence to the physician's plan of care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, contributing to a welcoming and positive clinic atmosphere that enhances patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities and department meetings to stay current with advancements in physical therapy practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The Physical Therapist at Canyon Orthopedics Clinic will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, including sports injuries, joint replacements, and post-surgical rehabilitation. The role also encompasses working with pediatric patients and individuals requiring neurologic support, ensuring a comprehensive approach to diverse rehabilitation needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, with a Doctorate degree preferred.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy setting, with a focus on orthopedics.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health records and applicable software for documentation and communication purposes.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
