Work Environment
This role is situated in a hospital setting, specifically within our Orthopedic Clinic, where teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance. The environment promotes hands-on learning with access to advanced therapeutic equipment and modalities. Your contributions will directly impact patients navigating post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, and mobility enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing tailored treatment plans for diverse patient cases.
  • Administer hands-on therapy techniques such as manual therapy, exercise application, and mobility training under supervision.
  • Instruct patients on exercises, equipment usage, and self-care strategies to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Document patient progress and treatment responses accurately in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Engage in collaborative care discussions with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Utilize and apply trigger point therapy techniques as appropriate for individual patient needs.
  • Participate in support for occupational health initiatives and preventative care programs within the facility.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will assist patients of various ages, focusing primarily on those requiring orthopedic rehabilitation. Our clients often include individuals recovering from surgical procedures, sports injuries, and chronic health conditions. By employing tailored therapeutic strategies, you will help facilitate efficient and effective recovery journeys, promoting independence and improved daily function.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) state license.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a PTA in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and an understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience working with orthopedic patients and familiarity with integrated care practices.
  • Skills in patient education and the ability to cultivate therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy and understanding.
Compensation and Benefits
