Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized physical therapy treatment plans created in collaboration with licensed physical therapists, implementing modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual techniques.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises aimed at strengthening muscles, enhancing mobility, and improving overall functional performance following orthopedic injuries.
  • Monitor patient progress before, during, and after therapy sessions, documenting observations and providing detailed reports to supervising physical therapists to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
  • Utilize specialized equipment, such as walkers and rehabilitation aids, to facilitate patient exercises and ensure safe mobility.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper post-treatment exercises, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies to optimize recovery.
  • Participate in ongoing mentoring of junior staff and assist in training sessions focused on enhancing clinical skills and therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to staff meetings and case discussions to collaboratively address patient challenges and share insights on effective treatment methodologies.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse group of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements and sports injuries, as well as those managing chronic pain issues. Your role is critical in evaluating each patient's unique needs, developing targeted rehabilitation strategies, and empowering them to achieve their personal recovery goals.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • Current PT license from the California Board of Physical Therapy.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients and their families.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy, ideally in a home care or outpatient setting.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Experience in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking.
