Work Environment
This full-time position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Middletown. The work schedule is designed to promote work-life balance, with hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Our facility features modern treatment areas and rehabilitation equipment, ensuring an optimal environment for both staff and patients. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment programs based on patient evaluations.
  • Provide direct, hands-on therapeutic interventions to patients, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques, exercises, and at-home activities to support the rehabilitation process.
  • Monitor patient progress throughout therapy sessions, documenting findings accurately and maintaining detailed patient records.
  • Engage in regular communication with the healthcare team, including physicians and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care and coordinated treatment plans.
  • Employ manual therapy techniques and trigger point therapy when appropriate, tailoring interventions to meet patient needs.
  • Support the implementation of occupational health initiatives that promote wellness within the facility and for our patients.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient demographic includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, chronic pain, and post-traumatic conditions. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting patients through a tailored rehabilitation process aimed at restoring function, enhancing mobility, and improving quality of life. Providing compassionate care to patients of all ages is a core element of this role.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or a related field is required.
  • A current active state PTA license is essential to practice in New York.
  • Proven experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with a minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting.
  • Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Skilled in manual therapy techniques and a thorough knowledge of evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion in patient interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in an orthopedic clinic or rehabilitation setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
