Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, understanding their unique history and needs to craft personalized treatment plans that promote optimal recovery.
  • Implement specialized therapeutic techniques including hands-on manual therapy, exercise regimens, massage, and advanced modalities aimed at restoring mobility and enhancing strength.
  • Instruct patients on rehabilitative exercises to promote independence and reduce the risk of future injury, emphasizing the education and empowerment of each patient.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical instruction for physical therapy interns and students, sharing expertise and facilitating a learning environment that cultivates future professionals in the field.
  • Work alongside fellow healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment strategies are being employed across the board.
  • Initiate and contribute to clinical research projects, in collaboration with the management, aimed at enhancing our clinical practices and patient care standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will primarily serve patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, chronic pain conditions, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Our diverse patient population ranges from young athletes to elderly individuals needing rehabilitation after surgeries, such as joint replacements or fracture recoveries. Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; a Master's Degree or Doctorate is strongly preferred.
  • An active Physical Therapy license in the State of New York is necessary for practice.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in orthopedic physical therapy is essential, developing strong clinical assessment skills and treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in essential therapeutic practices and patient care techniques with strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a diverse client base.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Experience in a clinical research setting or in-home care practice would further enhance your application.
