Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Inpatient Surgical Unit.

The RN unit Coordinator Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Position Available
  • Full time, 36 hours per week
  • Night Shift


Education
  • RN-Bachelor's Degree
  • RN-Master's Degree


Certification/Licensure
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
  • ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire
  • BLS within 90 days of hire


Experience
  • Experienced RN
  • 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.


Inpatient Surgical Unit

Our unit experiences a quick turnover of patients and provides care for patients with complex needsacross a wide range of surgical specialties, including:
  • Vascular
  • Neurosurgery
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic
  • Podiatric
  • Colorectal
  • Bariatric
  • Plastic
  • Gynecologic
  • Urologic


The unit work closely with surgeons and the multidisciplinary teamto deliver exceptional postoperative care. In addition to postoperative care, we occasionally provide care to patients with general medical needs.
